Who Is Pete Kirkbride?
Pete is a teacher, composer and professional guitarist based in Dorset.
Pete studied guitar with Graham Wade at the City of Leeds College of Music way back in 1990. He then went on to further his studies with John Mills at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
In later years he studied with the Open University and gained a BA Hons in Music and an MA in Musicology. He is currently half way through an MA in Sound Production at Bath Spa University.
With almost 40 years of experience, Pete is an accomplished teacher, composer and performer and has performed many concerts as a soloist, as part of an ensemble and as a member of a band.
Pete teaches guitar privately from his home recording studio but is also comfortable with online tuition. He also works for Dorset Music Service as a peripatetic guitar teacher and believes through his own example that he is cultivating a passion for music within successive generations of children.
Pete has recently turned his hand to composing music for film and TV and has created a range of Spanish/Mexican pieces for guitar, dramedy cues, ambient and world music.
Having sold many of his pieces to production companies for TV and film placement, he is starting to gain a reputation in this fascinating part of the music industry.
